Revisiting the remaster for The Last Hope a few months ago, I would actually slot that in behind TTEOT having access to the Japanese voice acting was a strong game changer for me. Till the End of Time will never be dethroned for me as my favourite in the series. Generic mediocrity and a taut budget really damaged Integrity and Faithlessness, as a recent example. ![]() While it's never gotten that household name acclaim that some of its contemporaries have enjoyed, Star Ocean has always had a fair bit of recognition going for it in its own right within the scene, and they have all been solid games to me, though not without some clear flaws. But perhaps by that same token there is something to be said for playing to your strengths as well. Is developing more on an existing IP necessarily a terrible thing though?
